half a palm tree

Krissy is dreading my hair this weekend. I'm awake at 5:30 am because my scalp hurts. It's different from a headache, more like a ponytail going in the wrong direction but all over my head all at once. It looks half cute though. The other half will look cute later today. Once the girl wakes up.

My crazy hair has been part of my identity in the world for as long as I can remember. I wasn't sure dreads would work out but I think they do.

I feel a little like half a palm tree, other half to follow.

What do you think you're supposed to learn in this lifetime?

There's a "supposed to"? I mean, besides just everything interesting...oh dear, there was an assignment and I was probably looking out the window again or thinking about how if I hold the sound of the fan next to the scraping of the chairs it almost sounds like music or else I was just daydreaming again. Does anyone out there have the teacher's edition, or are there cheats and walkthroughs posted online for this? Please let me know. Going back to painting the bathtub now.

What would you pick as your word for the week?

Jumbled.
All kinds of things kept happening out of order and unpredicted and the life around me made lots of its own decisions which I've just been sorting out.
I finally found the sealer for the bathtub, so that's done, but that led to buying paint for the walls which led to deciding we need to rip the ugly sink out and replace it with a little pedestal sink (it's a very tiny space) since we're painting anyway and then once we paint the ceiling we have to find a light fixture that doesn't look like it was stolen from a 1970's trailer and it's all snowballing inside a very very tiny space.
I think the tub looks nice though, don't you? Ignore the debri on the floor please...we are, until the walls are all scraped...

What is a must and what is not?

I want to believe that some things are essential because I don't want to ever lose them. But the truth (which is what the word essential comes from, truth, esse) is that everything is temporary including me. Some things I'm glad are temporary - I'm glad that weather changes and every day has dark and light and flowers bloom and fade and new flowers take their place. By this time of year I'm ready for spring to come - I think I would like an 8 season rotation rather than 4. Last week we had snow but today it's warm. But the picture above was taken in April, so anything can happen.
